It’s hard to believe that a year ago today I was road tripping in Nova Scotia, driving the Cabot Trail as I made my way towards Corner Brook and Gros Morne National Park. I did this part of the trek with an old friend of mine before I made the decision to go solo, and it was great to not only have the opportunity to drive the trail but also fully take it in as a passenger.
The Cabot Trail traverses through the northeastern part of the province. The eastern and western sections of the road follow the scenic shoreline through towns like Chéticamp and Ingonish, while the northern section goes through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The road itself is extremely windy at times with large changes in elevation, making it a fun drive!
Unfortunately as this was just a day trip through there wasn’t enough time to truly enjoy its natural beauty, but I’ll definitely be planning on spending a night or two next time I get a chance to explore it. Until then, I’ll reminisce about my whirlwind visit through these photos!
