As a Niagara resident, I remember the days where it was chain after chain that clearly didn’t care about repeat customers. I’m thrilled to say that this has changed drastically within the past decade!

While the chains are still there, I promise good eats can be found. Whether you’re a foodie looking to enjoy a stellar meal during your visit or a local that wants to try a new spot in the city, this list is for you. Butternut Squash Pasta & Manitoulin Island Fish at the Table Rock House Restaurant :: I've Been Bit! Travel Blog

Butternut Squash Pasta & Manitoulin Island Fish at the Table Rock House Restaurant

Table Rock House Restaurant

Address: 6650 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 0L0 [map]

If you’re looking to enjoy a delicious meal with stunning views of the falls, there is no better place to go than the Table Rock House Restaurant.

Located inside the Table Rock Welcome Centre, this FeastON Certified restaurant sources many of its ingredients right from Niagara as well as Ontario. They pride themselves on supporting Ontarian farmers and producers as well as brewers and distillers!

At the helm is Chef Chris Totah whose culinary journey began when he was just 16 years old upon opening his own bake shop in Port Louis, Mauritius! While he’s classically trained in French cuisine, he is a master of Asian Fusion as well as Thai, Italian and Mediterranean flavours. His travels have expanded his repertoire which shows in every dish at the Table Rock House Restaurant.

One thing I love about Table Rock is that its menu changes seasonally and there is no shortage of incredible dishes. From warm, cozy pastas to light and filling fish dishes, there’s plenty to offer all palettes. Plus they offer a Prix Fixe Menu of three courses for $70 which includes a starter, entrée and dessert. This way you can get a real feel of what Chef Totah has to offer! Take a look at the full menu here.

Another thing I adore about Table Rock is that it’s owned by Niagara Parks. These are the folks that bring you Journey Behind the Falls, the Power Station and many other iconic Niagara Falls attractions. That means all earnings go to this organization which maintains the entire Niagara Parkway – and they do a fantastic job I might add! See how you can make the most of your visit with their incredible experiences.

The Table Rock House Restaurant can be a busy spot in the summer, especially on weekends so reservations are recommended.

Table Rock Bistro + Wine Bar

Address: 6650 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 0L0 [map]

If you’re looking for the patio with the best view of Niagara Falls, the Table Rock Bistro + Wine Bar is your answer! Located right across from the Table Rock House Restaurant, this is Niagara Parks’ newest counterpart which only opened in the summer of 2024.

This is a more budget-friendly alternative to the Table Rock House Restaurant that’s also more on the casual side. This does not mean their eats aren’t nearly as good. I promise you they’re just as delicious! One of the things I love about it is their extensive charcuterie board. It does look a little pricey but when split between two people, it’s absolutely incredible.

The Table Rock Bistro also has a great wine and beer list all sourced from the Niagara Region. They also have wine tasting flights that are on par with pricing at many of the wineries themselves but you’ll get to try wines from four different wineries! It may inspire you to check out a few of the wineries in Niagara during your visit. You can build your own flight for beers too. If cocktails are more your forte, not to worry as you’ll have plenty to choose from including martinis and even frozen beverages. Not to mention their non-alcoholic options are pretty fabulous too.

What better spot to soak up the golden hour glow than with some of the best views of the falls? It’s the perfect spot to kickstart your date night in Niagara Falls! Seating is on a first come, first served basis so if you’re looking to get one of the tables right by the edge for the best ambiance, you may have to be a little patient. However, midweek does tend to be quieter, especially as the peak summer season passes.

Weinkeller Restaurant

Address: 5633 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3L5 [map]

Weinkeller brings old world charm to one of the biggest tourism destinations in the country. You will completely forget that you’re just a block from the kitschy lights and sounds of Clifton Hill – I sure did!

Descend into this elegant restaurant with gorgeous stone that feels like you are dining in a wine cellar. Their menu is set with your choice of three or five courses where you can mix and match appetizers, salads and desserts with your main. What I love is that you can use your courses for wine, beer and cocktails for a minor upcharge! And let me tell you – they make a mean espresso martini.

You can tell just how much passion goes into each and every dish from the plating to the flavour. I had an order of oysters and we shared the ahi tuna crudo. Whatever you do though, make sure you get an order of the fried goat’s cheese. It’s so creamy and delicious that we ordered another one! As for your main, their espresso-crusted filet mignon is out of this world. I never order steak at restaurants and I would order this one time and time again. Not only is it cooked to perfection, the espresso cream will have you coming back again and again!

I would say this is one of the more expensive restaurants in Niagara Falls, however it’s easily worth every penny. However if the price tag is a little high for your budget, they just introduced their “Pour Decisions” happy hour menu where you can enjoy a number of their items (including that friend goat’s cheese!) for an affordable price. And it’s every weekday from 4 pm to 6 pm!

As if this wasn’t enough, you’ll be treated like family with their incredible service – especially if you have Kaylee. She’s easily one of the best servers around!

Vittorio's Ristorante in the Fallsview Casino

Spaghetti alla Pescatora at Vittorio’s Italian Eatery

Vittorio’s in the Fallsview Casino

Address: 6380 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 7X5 [map]

Over the years, the Fallsview Casino has become a one-stop destination. Whether you’re visiting for a performance or to see how lucky you are, it sees thousands of visitors every year. In previous visits, I’ve found that the food is typically what was lacking… until I visited Vittorio’s Italian Eatery. This is easily some of the best Italian food in Niagara Falls!

Don’t let its location in the food court fool you as this restaurant offers an upscale atmosphere with elegant decor and private booths. Honestly, there’s a good chance you’ll smell it before you see it as nobody can resist the scent of fresh garlic, onions and olive oil. If you weren’t hungry before, you will be after your nose catches a whiff!

Vittorio’s menu provides a wide range of eats that will transport your taste buds to Italy. One thing to note is that you won’t find any pizza on their menu, however the variety of pasta dishes is spectacular. If you’re a fan of seafood, I highly recommend the spaghetti alla pescatora, especially with a drizzle of their chili oil. No matter what you choose to indulge in, make sure you order their bruschetta con burrata. You can thank me later.

Havana Restaurant in Niagara Falls

Ropa Vieja from Havana Restaurant

Havana Restaurant

Address: 4555 Queen St, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 2L4 [map]

One of the newer restaurants in Niagara Falls, enjoy a taste of the tropics without the hassle of the airport! The bright turquoise walls and vibrant decor will have you dreaming of the beach as you step inside Havana Restaurant.

Chances are you’ll be greeted by Daelys who owns the place. He is incredibly attentive and his passion for sharing his culture shows through with every interaction. As the name suggests, you’ll find a range of Cuban eats on the menu. Now I’ve heard many people say Cuban food can be lacking in flavour – and that’s certainly NOT the case here! Daelys specially sources a number of ingredients which elevates these dishes to a whole new level.

On the menu you’ll find a variety of dishes that bring Cuba to you including their national dish, Ropa Vieja. I honestly didn’t know beef could be so juicy! It makes sense though once you realize the meat has been braised for six hours so it can properly mingle with the tomatoes, bell peppers, sauteed onions and of course, roasted garlic. It’s served with congris (rice and beans) alongside fried yuca. I haven’t had yuca this good since I lived in Miami! Though if you love a dish with variety, D’s Paella is bound to be a hit.

Plus the portions are fantastic and there’s a high possibility of leftovers which is always a win in my books. Whether you opt for a variety of appetizers (make sure you get an order of the tostones rellenos!) or one of their larger meals, make sure you save room for dessert. Their tres leches cake is unreal.

Dinner isn’t the only think you’ll find at Havana, though! On weekends it’s not uncommon to see folks out dancing to Latin beats, making this the perfect spot a night out in Niagara Falls. If you’re visiting on a Saturday, check out their Facebook page as they often have special events that are guaranteed to make your night a memorable one!

Fish & Chips on the Patio at Taps Brewhouse

Fish & Chips on the Patio at Taps Brewhouse

Taps Brewhouse

Address: 4680 Queen St, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 2L8 [map]

For almost 20 years now, Taps Brewhouse has been serving up small-batch custom craft beers in the heart of Niagara Falls. They tend to fly a little under the radar but with a fantastic patio during the summer months, it’s not to be missed next time you’re in town!

Each of their beers complements their tasty pub menu. You’ll find classics such as fish and chips along with several sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Vegetarians will find a variety of options to suit their needs, too! Taps also has a variety of poutines which you can sample as part of their “hot mess” poutine box. I mean, why have just one when you can enjoy four?

Taps Brewhouse also has a number of features throughout the week which makes them one of the best restaurants in Niagara Falls in my books! Enjoy their happy hour from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with $5 pints, $5 wine, $8 flights and $7 select appetizers. There are a variety of food specials Monday through Thursday as well as events like comedy night on Tuesdays, karaoke on Wednesdays and live music on weekends. They even have a build your own Caesar bar during their weekend brunch! As you can see, Taps keeps the party going all week long.

La Savoyarde at the Paris Crepes Cafe

La Savoyarde at the Paris Crepes Cafe

Paris Crepes Cafe

Address: 4613 Queen St, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 2L7 [map]

Niagara Falls is a destination for international visitors from all over the globe but as you can see, it’s also home to a range of worldly tastes. Enjoy a French classic at the Paris Crepes Cafe!

If it isn’t clear from the name, the menu focuses on crepes. With a plethora of sweet and savoury options, you can enjoy a taste of France no matter which way you’re leaning. My favourite is their Savoyarde made with Swiss Cheese, freshly sliced tomatoes, tasty Prosciutto adorned with a sunny side up egg, though I’m definitely eyeing their Neptune crepe for the next time I visit! They also feature a fantastic brunch menu with larger dishes such as steak and eggs alongside hearty dinner fare such as Canard Confit and Ratatouille Provencale.

For our readers who need to avoid gluten, the Paris Crepes Cafe has a number of options making this a great gluten-free restaurant in Niagara Falls.

Country Fresh Donuts

Address: 5076 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 4E2 [map]

A staple of the community since 1991, this family run restaurant has a sort of cult following in Niagara – for good reason. It’s a bit of a time machine to be honest. You won’t find any WiFi here, not even a debit card machine. Technology isn’t a thing here, and it’s a great little spot to disconnect from it all, even if it’s just while you have a quick bite to eat.

While their menu is simple and includes homemade sandwiches, a hot cup of coffee and old school donuts, people flock here for their wonton soup. Made fresh daily, I highly recommend ordering it “half and half” to enjoy a mix of wontons, noodles and generous chunks of pork.

It doesn’t matter if you enjoy it at one of the few tables inside or take it to go, it’ll warm you inside and out. It makes a perfect meal on chilly winter nights at home or as a hangover cure in your hotel room overlooking the falls.

Bring some bills as it’s cash only but don’t worry, your wallet will thank you as this is one of, if not the most affordable restaurant in Niagara Falls.

Taku Sushi & Ramen in Niagara Falls

Salmon Lover Combo at Taku Sushi & Ramen

Taku Sushi & Ramen

Address: 5259 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 4E6 [map]

Taku Sushi & Ramen is a quaint Japanese restaurant in the heart of Niagara Falls. Offering some of the freshest fish in the city, you can guarantee quality eats in a calm atmosphere.

The menu has plenty of Japanese eats from appetizers like takoyaki and calamari to sushi pizza and softshell crab. Feel free to order whatever your heart desires as there is certainly a variety to choose from, though I absolutely love their combos. The salmon combo is my favourite with six pieces of salmon sashimi, four pieces of salmon sushi, six pieces of spicy crispy salmon roll along with their house salad and miso soup. Salmon lovers will adore it!

While their offerings do skew heavily on seafood, there are still plenty of land meats for those who aren’t a fan of the sea eats. Plus their ramen is the perfect way to warm up on a chilly winter day!

INSIDER TIP: They have a number of specials during the week like $0.99 salmon sushi or sashimi on Tuesdays!

If you’re able to, snag one of their booths. Each one has a privacy curtain offering a more intimate and cozy dining experience! It’s yet another great date night spot in Niagara Falls.

Fish Tacos at Taco n Tequila

Fish Tacos at Taco n Tequila

Taco n Tequila

Address: 6405 Stanley Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3Y6 [map]

Enjoy a taste of Mexico right here in Niagara Falls. Taco n Tequila is a vibrant space with a lively vibe. Grab a seat and enjoy the Latin beats as you peruse the menu.

Admire the gorgeous murals that adorn the walls as you sink your teeth into burritos, enchiladas, tostadas… or tacos, obviously. They have an assortment of fillings that cater to carnivores, omnivores and herbivores alike. This is another great spot for gluten-free options, too! Make sure you enjoy their homemade “macho” hot sauce. Despite the name, it’s quite mild so all can enjoy it!

Taco n Tequila is also known for its massive 45 oz margaritas which you can enjoy in strawberry, mango, passion fruit, peach or go the traditional route with lime. Of course, they have smaller options available too alongside a number of tropical cocktails making it a great spot for a night of drinks with friends!

Pints at Counterpart Brewing

Beers at Counterpart Brewing

Counterpart Brewing

Address: 3659 Stanley Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 0A6 [map]

Located in the north end of Niagara Falls, Counterpart Brewing is the perfect spot for a low key, casual hangout. They’ve been serving up fantastic beers from hazy IPAs to fruity sours since 2019.

Their menu has a heavy focus on hand held eats ranging from light nibbles to hearty meals. A few dishes have an Asian spin which I find is unique to breweries. If you’re looking for some great beer and food pairings, Counterpart Brewing has you covered! Be sure to take a peek at their features board for their latest concoctions before you order.

Counterpart Brewing is a great spot to bring the family (yes, it’s a family-friendly brewery!) in the summer months as they have a number of games you can enjoy on their expansive patio. Let the little ones play a few rounds of cornhole while you enjoy a pint or get in on the fun. The patio is also dog-friendly so bring along your furry family members, too!

Somehow despite visiting numerous times, I don’t have a food photo in my repertoire… I guess I’ll have to return so I can fix that. They’ve also just recently opened Counterpie next door focusing on pizza and pints which I have yet to try!

Which of These Niagara Falls Restaurants Tops Your List?

If you’re not salivating by the time you get here, that’s pretty impressive! However, I know there are plenty of restaurants appearing every month and some that take me far too long to hear about – but better late than never, right? Here are a handful of spots that are on my radar.

La Favella – Located on the roof of the Copacabana Steakhouse, this all day cafe has a retractable roof which is perfect for soaking up the rays in the summertime. Open Thursday through Sunday, they have numerous happy hour specials and brunch features on weekends with a live DJ starting at noon! I’m itching to go and enjoy a little daytime action here this summer.

The Kasbah Mediterranean – Said to be a top destination for Greek cuisine, they have been a staple of Niagara Falls for over 25 years. I know, I need to visit ASAP! From what I can see, they have one of the widest menus around. Gyros, souvlaki, pitas, sarma… you name it, chances are they’ve got it. You’ll also find their spin on Armenian and Italian dishes as well. For those who are vegetarian and vegan, The Kasbah is a great spot with a variety of dishes to fill your belly.

AG Inspired Cuisine – The epitome of farm to table, most of the ingredients you’ll enjoy are grown on their very own farm here in Niagara. That’s because sustainability is their focus with everything from the dishes to their tables (yes, they’re made from thousands of recycled chopsticks!). It’s a little on the pricier side which is understandable considering the time, effort and passion that goes into every aspect of this restaurant but you can enjoy an affordable date night on Wednesdays and Thursdays!
