Stellar Gifts for Travel Lovers to Suit Every Budget

Whether you’re looking for the perfect Christmas gift, a birthday present, or something to say ‘I’m thinking of you’, shopping can be stressful. Some people are hard to shop for… especially travellers. How do you shop for someone who’s constantly on the move or looking for their next destination?! Lucky for you I’ve been doing some digging and I’ve found a thing or two that just might do the trick! From the practical to the why the hell not, you’ll find a variety of awesome travel gift ideas to fit every budget. Is your traveller an occasional puddle-jumper? Or maybe a seasoned backpacker? Don’t worry – there’s a gift to fit your price range! From one traveller to another, here is my lineup of gifts for travel lovers that I think the traveller on your list will adore!

SOMETHING TO NOTE: This post contains affiliate links at where I may receive a kickback at no extra cost to you. Despite this, all of the items listed below have been included because I think they’re super cool and would personally love to get them as gifts!

To keep things simple, I’ve divided the items by price. Since you know your budget much better than I do, this way you can go right to the section that’s in your price range! Also prices are subject to change without warning but I’ll do my best to keep this as accurate as possible!

Travel Gifts Below $20

Travel-Themed Throw Pillow

Perfect for the days where you’re watching Parts Unknown and other great travel shows from your big comfy couch, a travel-themed pillow makes a great cuddle partner. The best part (or worst, depending on how you look at it) is that there are so many designs online that, just like Pringles, I’ll bet you can’t have just one!

Snazzy Corkscrew

One can never have too many corkscrews because, let’s face it, when the wine bottle needs to be opened… it’s nowhere to be found! For the travel lovers that are also wine enthusiasts, this adorable airplane corkscrew is one that your giftee will never lose.

Guide Books

While we’re between flights, the best way to quench that travel bug thirst is to plan for the future! If you know your gift-receiver is looking at a specific destination for their next adventure, why not help them plan with a guidebook? Out of the many choices, Lonely Planet is the best in my opinion – I never go anywhere in Canada without their guidebook! While some are more expensive, there are a number of options for $20 or less!

Selfie Stick

Many will groan at this, but sometimes you need a little help to get those epic shots you want while travelling solo! I mean, I’m tired of being disappointed by the photos you ask random strangers to take. You might want to think about one that has a built-in tripod too!

Gifts For Travellers Below $40

Sand-Free Beach Bag

I’m sure every beachgoer is tired of coming home to empty not just your clothes but a beach’s worth of sand into your home? With this bag’s one way sift technology, your gear is in the clear and the sand will stay where it should be – at the beach! Pair this with the quick-dry towel below and you’ve got the perfect gift for the sun child on your list.

Quick-Dry Towel

With washing comes drying and this is one of the best towels I’ve seen yet! Lightweight and made of microfiber so it dries quicker than cotton. It’s compact therefore taking up very little room in your luggage and comes in a variety of sizes (and colours!) for any and all uses! Go ahead, get a few sizes… and maybe one for yourself.

Trackable Luggage Tag

With washing comes drying and this is one of the best towels I’ve seen yet! Lightweight and made of microfiber so it dries quicker than cotton. It’s compact therefore taking up very little room in your luggage and comes in a variety of sizes (and colours!) for any and all uses! Go ahead, get a few sizes… and maybe one for yourself.

Power Bank & Solar Charger

This isn’t just for travelling but for everyday use! For all those times when there’s no plug available, you can use our beloved sun for all your USB-based charging needs! It’s especially perfect for camping so you never have to worry about losing the music or not being able to take photos with your phone.

Hidden Pocket Scarf

Perfect for any traveller, this scarf has a hidden pocket so you can keep your valuables closer than ever. Are you a traveller that has a habit of putting things down and walking away? Have no fear! Just stick your passport, cash, credit cards, etc in and zip it up! Another perk? You can have it custom ordered and select what print you want from a variety of choices!

Carry-on Cocktail Kit

While I’m not usually one to have a drink on flights, if that’s your jam then you can do so in style! Although let’s be honest… who says you have to wait until you’re on the flight? Whether you’re go-to is a Gin and Tonic, Bloody Mary or even a Moscow Mule, you can find a kit for you. Sometimes you just have to treat the people on your list… and possibly yourself! Who says you can’t buy yourself a gift?

Insulated Road Trip Glass

So now that you’ve got the cocktail kit, you need a glass to drink it out of! What better way to do that than with a snazzy cup that not only shows off your wanderlust but is insulated to keep your drink cold. That’s what I call travelling in style!

AeroPress Travel Coffee Maker

Now I don’t know about you, but there’s something to be said about a good cup of coffee. Whether it’s been a long day of flying, driving, or you just don’t want to drink the swill inside the hotel room, the AeroPress is here to save you! Not only will it allow you to make undeniably delicious coffee but it’s easy to clean and compact so it won’t take up too much room in your luggage!

Scratchable World Map

The perfect addition to a world traveller’s house/apartment! Show off of your personal travels or keep track of the adventures you tackle with your significant other by scratching off where you’ve been on this awesome world map. You can snag it in either black or white to best fit your home decor. I absolutely love mine!

Travel-Themed Gear

Okay I’m tooting my own horn here a little bit, but in case you didn’t know – I design travel-themed gear! Rock your wanderlust through t-shirts, hoodies, hats and more. I’m adding designs all the time so check back periodically to see what’s new! Or follow me on Facebook or Twitter to stay up to date on new additions. Both mens and womens styles are available!

Travel-Themed Gifts Below $60

LifeProof Phone Case

This is a clutch travel gift that you can’t go wrong with, especially if your giftee is a total klutz. I can’t tell you how many times my case has saved my phone as I’ve dropped it in snowbanks, puddles, sinks, bounced off of rocks… you catch my drift. My go-to is Lifeproof for two reasons, the first being they make quality products and the second is their incredible warranty. Claim your case before your year is up and get two for the price of one!

Instant Camera

For those travellers that love kicking it old school, especially when it comes to memories. Fujifilm has come out with a great rendition of the traditional Polaroid camera, and it comes in a variety of fun colours! It’s the perfect memento gift for travel lovers. Plus it’s awesome for little projects to remember your travels like this tile wallpaper which I’m totally doing in my apartment one day.

Wanderlust Wall Decal

If pillows and scratch maps just aren’t quite doing it, how about a wanderlust-inducing wall decal? It’ll easily make any room travel themed. Seriously though, this travel quote looks absolutely adorable in photos and comes in a few different styles and phrases. I also love this geometric world map design.

More Expensive Gifts for Travellers

Portable Washing Machine

The new-age washboard that’s perfect for campers, backpackers, or those emergencies when you need your clothes washed in a jiffy! Get a machine quality wash for your clothes in less than five minutes in six simple steps. Mind you the load is limited to two days of summer clothes, but it sure beats paying $7+ for a load of laundry in a hostel!

GoPro Action Camera

If your traveller is a bit of a thrill-seeker, then a camera like this will be perfect for capturing those moments when they’re knee-deep in whatever their adventure takes them. GoPro is the biggest name in adventure filming and photography apparatuses for a reason. I’ve tried and tested the SJCam, its cheaper counterpart, and while it may come in a variety of fun colours, it’ll crap out after a year or so.

DJI Spark Drone

Okay so a drone is definitely not for every budget, but I’m including the DJI Spark for three reasons. The first is that it’s super easy to use and its compact size makes it great for hobbyists who want to snag a cool shot. Second, it’s facial recognition technology is pretty rad as it will actually follow you as you move. Lastly, if you keep an eye out for sales, you can snag one for under $500… which isn’t bad for a high-quality drone!

I’m not super adventurous but I’m still secretly hoping I one day find a GoPro in my stocking!

Haha I know exactly what you mean! The SJCams are super awesome though and a fraction of the GoPro’s price! I hinted to my parents this year that I really wanted one, especially after my adventures in the Philippines when I kicked myself for not having it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!!

This is a great list! I especially like the Fujifilm Instax camera. Seems like a really fun idea, from someone who was around for the original polaroid, 🙂

Thanks so much! I loved my original polaroid so when I saw this I jumped with excitement! There’s some (more expensive) cellphone printers which are really cool too!

I know right?! I wish I knew how to sew so I could make one myself! I wonder if there’s a way I could make a knitted one…

I’m glad you like the list! Hopefully it’ll come in handy for you! 😉

Loving all of these (except for the selfie-stick as I hate it lol). But how awesome is that shrimp-shaped neck pillow?!
